Holli Castillo

Holli Castillo is a Louisiana appellate public defender and former New Orleans prosecutor. Her third novel in the Crescent City Mystery Series, Chocolate City Justice, is scheduled for release by Oak Tree Press in December, 2013. The first in the series, the 2011PSWA award winner for Best Published Novel, Gumbo Justice, was published in June, 2009, after being delayed when she was incapacitated for almost a year due to a head-on collision with a drunk driver. Jambalaya Justice, the 2011 PSWA winner for Best Unpublished Novel and second in the series, was published in July, 2011. The third installment, Chocolate City Justice, scheduled for release at the end of 2013. Holli is also a screenwriter, and her original drama t.v. pilot made it to the finals of the 2013 Creative World Awards and the second round of the Austin Film Festival. Her science fiction feature film was the runner up in the 2009 Acclaim Screenwriting Spring/Summer contest, and made the finals of the 2009 Page Awards, Exposurama, Script Showcase, and won a Silver Screen Award in the 2009 Nevada Film Festival. Holli received a JD from Loyola Law School in 1996, and a BA in Drama from UNO in 1990. She resides in the metropolitan New Orleans area with her husband, who is the model for Big Who in her series, her two daughters, two dogs, and two deaf cats, one of which is featured prominently in Jambalaya Justice.
