Darden North

Darden North, MD, is a board–certified obstetrician/gynecologist who writes murder mysteries and medical thrillers. He grew up in the Mississippi Delta and lives in Jackson with his wife Sally and two dogs. A graduate of Ole Miss, Darden is a certified DaVinci robotic surgeon and still delivers babies. His first three novels, available in print and eBook, have been awarded nationally, most notably Points of Origin in Southern Fiction by the Independent Publishers Book (IPPY) Awards. Fresh Frozen is in film development by Frank Vitolo and Scott Alvaraz, screenplay adaptation by Amy Taylor. Darden's fourth novel Wiggle Room (June 2013 in trade paperback and eBook) is his newest thriller.Darden North recently presented at the Southern Expressions Conference on the construction of mysteries and thrillers and participated as a panelist in "Murder in the Magic City" (Birmingham, AL), "Author! Author! Celebration of the Written Word" (Shreveport LA), "Murder on the Menu" (Wetumpka, AL), and "Thriller Author Panel – SIBA Trade Show" (Mobile, AL). Prior to attending medical school, Darden worked in lawn maintenance, waited tables, ran a community pool concession stand, and taught swimming lesions. Several years ago, he hung up his golf clubs for a laptop. In his spare time, he gardens, walks for exercise, reads fiction, enjoys his friends, and travels with his family.
