Sam Parnia

Sam Parnia, M.D., PH.D., is one of the world's leading experts on the scientific study of death, the human mind–brain relationship, and near-death experiences. Parnia directs the AWARE Study (AWAreness during REsuscitation), and his groundbreaking research has been featured on top national media outlets. He divides his time between hospitals in the United Kingdom and the United States, where he is an assistant professor of critical care medicine and director of resuscitation research at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a former fellow in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.
