Mike Dorcas 
Michael E. Dorcas is a wildlife biologist, conservationist, scientific consultant, and author whose research has focused on the ecology, conservation, and management of reptiles and amphibians. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and has authored or coauthored more than 140 scientific papers, over 25 book chapters, and eight books, including Snakes of the Southeast, Frogs and Toads of the Southeast, Invasive Pythons in the United States, and Secrets of Snakes. His research has been supported by numerous federal and state agencies, and he has served on grant review panels for the National Science Foundation, U.S. Geological Survey, and Department of Defense. In addition to his scientific work, Dorcas is an internationally recognized wildlife artist whose drawings have appeared in books, journals, and conservation exhibitions. He continues to write, consult, and promote science and wildlife conservation through research, outreach, and art.
