Scott Wallace

Scott Wallace is a writer and photojournalist whose assignments have taken him from the high Himalaya to the depths of the Amazon rainforest and from clandestine arms bazaars in post-Soviet Russia to midnight raids on fedayeen hideouts in the slums of Baghdad. A former correspondent for the Guardian and Newsweek, Wallace has authored two cover stories about the Amazon for National Geographic. His writings on armed conflict, the environment, and indigenous issues have also appeared in Harper's, Smithsonian, National Geographic Adventure, National Geographic Traveler, the Village Voice, and Sports Afield. His photography has been featured in Smithsonian, Outside, Details, Interview, and Newsweek, and his television producing credits include CBS News, CNN, and National Geographic Channel. He has three sons and lives in Washington, DC.
