Pamela Hartzband

Dr. Hartzband is an Assistant Professor at the Harvard Medical School and Attending Physician in the Division of Endocrinology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She specializes in disorders of the thyroid and pituitary glands. A magna cum laude graduate of Radcliffe College, Harvard University, she received her M.D. from Harvard Medical School. She served her internship and residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and her specialty fellowships in endocrinology and metabolism at UCLA. Dr. Hartzband is a noted endocrinologist and educator specializing in disorders of the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands and in women’s health. She is regularly featured among America’s Best Doctors. She has authored articles in the New England Journal of Medicine on the impact of electronic records, uniform practice guidelines, monetary incentives, and the Internet on the culture of clinical care. In conjunction with her spouse, Dr. Jerome Groopman, she is a bimonthly columnist for “ACP Internist,” the publication of the American College of Physicians read by 150,000 internal medicine physicians in the United States and Canada.
