Robert T. Ludlow

Robert T. Ludlow

Rob Ludlow was born, raised, and currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. While his educational and work background is in finance and online consulting / marketing, his interest in a variety of topics is what led to his fascination with raising backyard chickens. Diving head first into the topic, Rob learned all he could about raising his own small flock of egg machines in an urban / suburban backyard. After years of being immersed in the topic Rob became the owner of BackYardChickens.com and leveraged his online skills to help propel the awareness of raising chickens as pets and the website achieved explosive growth. BYC now boasts tens of thousands of members who post hundreds of thousands of questions and answers about raising chickens. Rob and his family; wife Emily and daughters Alana & April, continue to raise their own small flock of chickens. The chickens are raised primarily as pets and for the great fresh eggs they provide, but Rob and his family love all the surprising and wonderful benefits that come with a "pet that makes you breakfast".
