Michael Hoffman

Michael Hoffman is a fiction and nonfiction writer based in semi-rural northern Japan. He is the author of five books of fiction, many of them, like Little Pieces, set in Japan. Hisnon fiction writing appears regularly in the Japan Times (most recently, "Japan’s first pop culture," Feb. 13, 2011), and irregularly in various other publications. He is an incurable Japanophile and a sympathetic though unsentimental observer of the national nervous breakdown the country is lately going through. He is currently at work on a novel tentatively titled The Naked Ear.
