Larry VanderLeest

Larry VanderLeest grew up in the suburbs of Chicago amazed as a boy at the machinery and the men who picked up the garbage and wondering where it all went. During summers between college years, he used his Dutch connections to get a job on a garbage truck, and thus began his adventures portrayed in Garbio. Years later, now relocated in Washington State on Whidbey Island, Vanderleest runs a bed and breakfast with his wife. But he can’t quite shake the desire to drive truck and works as a school bus driver. He hauls his own trash to the local transfer station.
