Michael S. McDermott

A native Texan and 44-year resident of Fort Worth, Michael S. McDermott has called Fairmount home for 25 years, having been one of the first of the new generation of urban pioneers. The restoration of his 102-year-old home gives testament to his love of all things historical and to his neighborhood, in which his own ancestors added to Fairmount's stories. He was one of the founders of the Fairmount Southside Historic District in 1990, and has served as liaison to the city as historic preservation director. McDermott collected many of the photographs from former and current Fairmount residents.
