Luke Short graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 1930. He worked as a trapper, a reporter, and an archeologist's assistant before penning Westerns for a number of pulp magazines. 1948 saw the release of four films based on Luke Short novels, including Blood on the Moon and Ramrod. Short is the author of more than 50 novels and numerous screenplays.
