Susan Orlean

A staff writer at The New Yorker since 1992, Susan Orlean is the acclaimed author of The Bullfighter Checks Her Makeup, My Kind of Place, Lazy Little Loafers, The Orchid Thief, and Saturday Night, a New York Times Notable Book. The Orchid Thief was a New York Times bestseller, a Barnes and Noble Discover book, a Borders New Voices selection, an honoree in the American Library Association and New York Public Library books-of-the-year selections, and the subject of the movie, Adaptation. Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Esquire, The Atlantic, National Geographic, Smithsonian, and Condé Nast Traveler.
