John Naisbitt

John Naisbitt

Since the publication of his first book, Megatrends, in 1982, the future has been in the center of John Naisbittโ€™s field of activity as an author and speaker. The culmination of nearly a decade of research, Megatrends is one of publishingโ€™s greatest success stories. It was at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for more than two years, has been published in 57 countries, and sold more than 8 million copies.

Naisbitt has become the global philosopher among futurists. With his articulate and inspiring message, Naisbitt today speaks before global corporations and provides counsel to leading politicians in closed circles. It is not only his experience in top management, politics, or as an entrepreneur that has shaped Naisbittโ€™s picture of the future, his cultural life and residence in countries on several continents keep him directly in touch with global conditions, which is reflected in the books he has written.

A former visiting fellow at Harvard University, and former visiting professor at Moscow State University, he is currently a faculty member at the Nanjing University in China and serves as a Distinguished International Fellow, Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), in Malaysiaโ€”the first non-Asian to hold this appointment. He is the recipient of 15 honorary doctorates in the humanities, technology, and science.

Naisbitt published the international bestsellers Reinventing the Corporation in 1985, Megatrends 2000 in 1990 (which was published in 32 countries and was the number one bestseller in the United States, Japan, and Germany), and Megatrends for Women in 1992 (coauthored with Patricia Aburdene). His 1994 book, Global Paradox, received Englandโ€™s World Review Award for The Best Book of The Year. Megatrends Asia in 1995 was a bestseller in the German language market and in Asia. High Tech High Touch was published in the fall of 1999 and has since been published in 17 countries.
