Jarret Brachman

DR. JARRET BRACHMAN is an internationally recognized al-Qaida specialist, author and public lecturer.
In 2003, while completing his PhD from the University of Delaware, he served as a Graduate Fellow at the CIA’s Counterterrorist Center. In 2004, Brachman joined the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point. Brachman became the CTC’s first Director of Research and oversaw a number of research projects about al-Qaida ideology and strategy.
In 2008, Brachman resigned from the West Point CTC and returned to his hometown in North Dakota. He is now on faculty with North Dakota State University and conducts private consulting on al-Qaida for clients both inside and outside of government. Brachman published his first book, GLOBAL JIHADISM: THEORY AND PRACTICE in 2008. brachman-cnn-nov13-2009
Brachman is currently working on his new book, entitled, THE NEXT BIN LADIN: THE RISE OF ABU YAHYA AL-LIBI. His work is regularly featured across international media outlets including, NPR, CNN, the AP, the Washington Post and the New York Times.
