Janie Bynum

Janie Bynum

Born in Dallas, Texas, Janie moved to Michigan in 1985. Over the past 20 years, Janie has lived in Illinois, Michigan, and Texas. She currently lives in Dallas. Janie writes and illustrates picture books for young children. She uses various materials and techniques to create lovable characters and memorable children’s art. Janie draws and paints both digitally and traditionallyβ€”usually combining both methods. She loves to travel, read, draw, paint, write, and cook meals for friends and family. Janie graduated with a BFA in graphic design and a minor in literature from the University of North Texas. Over the years she developed her painting and illustration skills by attending classes at local universities, including two children’s book illustration classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
