Aimee Chase

Aimee Chase is a freelance writer with a firm belief in sentimental greeting cards, made-for-television movies and lifelong romance. She used to dream that she’d grow up to be an author or, if that didn’t work out, one of Madonna’s backup dancers. She is glad to have accomplished the former because she really doesn’t have the body (or the skills) for the latter. How I Love You and Countdown to Baby are the first question-and-answer journals she’s ever written, but she’s always been the type to put her thoughts and feelings on paper. As a melodramatic tweener, she filled her diary with adolescent angst and then tossed it into a river so nobody could read it. Now she’s all grown up and lives in the Boston burbs with her husband and their two young sons. Most of her teenage angst has dissipated, but her flair for the dramatic is alive and well.

Aimee has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in professional writing. Her career is a smorgasbord of all things writing-related, including stints as a journalist, teacher, editor, copywriter and freelance writer. When she’s not fetching somebody a juice box or issuing a time-out, Aimee likes to read books with a sense of humor and perspective (like Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close). She strives for the same balance of humor and heart in her own writing.
