Thomas Beatie was born and raised in Hawaii—as a girl, Tracy. Thomas made the transition to a male in the late 1990s. In July 2008, he gave birth to his daughter, Susan. Currently, Thomas is happily married to his wife, Nancy, and is a custom screenprinter and owner of Define Normal Clothing Company. Thomas, Nancy, and Susan live together in Bend, Oregon.
