Peter Tanous

When Peter Tanous founded Lynx Investment Advisory, Inc., an independent investment consulting firm, in 1992, the first place he thought to locate his business was 1100 Connecticut Avenue NW, right in the heart of the Golden Triangle. Peter’s uncle was married to Maxine Rizik, owner of the fashionable Rizik’s clothing boutique and the building itself. While the family connection has kept Lynx in the 1100 Connecticut building through fifteen years and three office moves, Peter notes that, unfortunately, “I’m sure it didn’t help me get better rent.”
Starting out with just three people fifteen years ago, Lynx now has a staff of sixteen and more than $1.5 billion under advisement. As his business has grown, the Golden Triangle has also improved, and he’s proud to have smart--and just as importantly--nice people to work with everyday.
Peter’s a faithful patron of many Golden Triangle establishments, with Morton’s Steakhouse and the Atrium Café being two favorite haunts. He’s also a frequent visitor to the food vendor outside of his building, who, coincidentally, was an avid viewer of Peter’s television program, “Money Talks,” while it was on air.
Peter and the Lynx staff love that the Golden Triangle Ambassadors are out there every day making the area safe and friendly and they fondly remember the early days of wooden tokens that were used to recognize an Ambassador’s job well done.
In addition to running a successful investment consulting company, Peter is a prolific writer, having authored four investment books and three novels. His most recent book, Building a Winning Portfolio, hits the streets this month. It serves as a comprehensive and realistic introduction to build financial wealth for anyone who wants to create a strong portfolio.
