Nadine Haobsh

Nadine Haobsh is an American novelist, blogger and beauty journalist. She maintains a blog, Jolie in New York City, which has 15,000 readers daily and has received over 7,000,000 hits. Nadine, a former beauty editor, was named by the New York Post as "the poster girl for the blogger generation". Haobsh was born in New York City in 1980. She spent her childhood in San Diego and Dallas, In 1992, Haobsh moved to Atlanta, where her family currently resides. Haobsh graduated in 1998 from Cate School in Carpinteria, California, and enrolled at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. In college, Haobsh spent three years writing for the Columbia Spectator, where she interviewed personalities such as Madonna, Joshua Jackson, and Vin Diesel. She worked as beauty and fashion assistant at FHM and interned for InStyle, Harper's Bazaar and CNN. While at Columbia, Haobsh studied in Paris and pledged the Delta Gamma sorority. She double majored in English and European Studies and graduated in 2002, quickly accepting a Beauty Assistant job with Lucky Magazine. Two years later, in 2003, she accepted a job at Ladies' Home Journal as assistant beauty editor. She was promoted three months later to Associate Beauty Editor. In May 2005, following the creation of the popular Nick and Jessica Breakup Watch blog, Nadine began a blog under the pseudonym Jolie in NYC, where she dispersed beauty advice and celebrity gossip. Her identity was revealed by the New York Post in July of 2005, and after an offer at Seventeen magazine as Beauty Editor was simultaneously rescinded, her story received international coverage. After Regis Philbin stumbled over the pronunciation of her name on Live! With Regis and Kelly, Haobsh appeared on Anderson Cooper, MSNBC, ABC, Fox and CNN and was profiled by the New York Times, People Magazine, The Guardian, Cosmopolitan magazine, Women's Wear Daily, Fashion Week Daily, and Time. From 2005-2007, Haobsh worked as a business consultant to legendary polo player Carlos Gracida and until July of 2007 blogged for the now defunct Jane Magazine. Haobsh is President of Jolie NYC Enterprises. She currently appears on international entertainment news programs, contributes to regularly to Harper's Bazaar Japan and Figaro Japan, and divides her time between Palm Beach, New York City, Los Angeles and London.
