Norman Pearlstine

Norman Pearlstine is a Senior Advisor to the Telecom & Media team. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Pearlstine was Editor-in-Chief of Time Inc., the magazine division of Time Warner Inc., for 11 years. As Editor-In-Chief of Time, Inc., he oversaw the editorial content of Time, Inc.'s magazines, which includes Fortune, Money, People, Sports Illustrated, Time and others. Previously he spent over 20 years at The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), where he held numerous posts, including managing editor of The Asian Wall Street Journal, editor and publisher of The Wall Street Journal/Europe and executive editor of WSJ in New York. After resigning from the Journal, Pearlstine launched the magazine Smart Money for Dow Jones & Company and Hearst. He later became general partner of Friday Holdings, L.P., a multimedia investment company, before moving to his current position.
