Kevin Dundon
Kevin is the chef and proprietor of the Dunbrody Country House and Hotel in County Wexford, Ireland. Famous visitors to Dunbrody have included Bono, the President of Ireland and Graham Norton. The hotel is also home to the Dunbrody Cookery School. On finishing college, Kevin won a scholarship to work in Switzerland, before cooking on a Caribbean cruise liner and then moving on to Canada. Throughout his eight years at the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Canada he was promoted to be the youngest executive head chef ever in the company at just 22 years old. In 1994, Kevin was lured back to Ireland to be the executive chef at The Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, one of Ireland’s most prestigious cooking positions. Four years later at the age of 30 opened Dunbrody and has received critical acclaim there ever since. Kevin has made many TV appearances in both Ireland and the US, and last year visited New York with the Irish Tourist Board for St Patrick’s Day to promote Irish Food in a whirlwind of radio and TV interviews. He is also the face of the restaurant ‘Nine Fine Irishmen’ in the New York-New York Hotel in Las Vegas. Kevin’s cookery can be described as modern contemporary with an international feel, influenced by both his Irish roots and his culinary experiences.
