Natasha Mostert
Natasha Mostert's interest in mysticism started in early childhood when she was growing up in South Africa. Her nanny was a Zulu woman who introduced Natasha to the world of the "insangoma" (witch doctors) and years later, the concepts of witchcraft and alchemy would surface in her acclaimed novel, Season of the Witch.
Educated in South Africa and at Columbia University, New York, Mostert holds graduate degrees in Lexicography and Applied Linguistics and a bachelors in modern languages. Her political opinion pieces have appeared in The New York Times and Newsweek, among others.
She is an avid kickboxer. Her interest in martial arts lies at the heart of her new novel, Keeper of Light and Dust, in which she introduces a vampire for the twenty-first century: a thief of light.
She lives in London with her husband.
