Patricia M. Goins

This Can’t Be Love is a fictional novel and the characters do not exist. However, the abuse that the main character experiences as a child came from Patricia Goins’s own true life experience. As a result, Patricia was able to describe the character’s abuse in a manner that immediately draws the reader into the novel. In 1999 Patricia and her children spent one year living in different domestic violence shelters in Atlanta, Georgia. From her experience, and her involvement with other victims of domestic violence, she was able to tell the story in a very real life fashion. Patricia Goins is a nurse and mother of four, residing in Riverdale, Georgia. She has self published a poetry book, Essence...The Poetry of Life and has just finished writing the sequel to This Can’t Be Love. As an advocate against domestic violence, she is dedicated to helping other victims overcome their abuse.
