John Dettloff

John Dettloff, owner of one of the Chippewa Flowage's premier musky fishing camps (Indian Trail Resort) and a noted guide and surface bait specialist, has boated over 600 muskies - many in the trophy class - since he started fishing for them 26 years ago. A prolific writer, Dettloff also presents seminars on tactics and musky history and lore. He’s the Historical Editor of Musky Hunter and writer of feature articles for many other magazines (including Outdoor Life). John is the author of a book, Surface Bait Subtleties (see our store), has contributed chapters for two others, and is now writing a book chronicling the life of Louie Spray.
