Holly Cleeland
From Holly: I love all the Holidays. Halloween is my favorite. More than anything as a child I wanted to win a costume contest, but that did not happen until I designed and made costumes for neighborhood kids. I always wished I could decorate my parents' lawn, instead my Dad enjoyed his prize-winning garden more. Being born in Hollywood and raised in Burbank, CA, I thought painting for the movie industry would be where I would go next. I worked at Warner Brothers Studios painting backdrops and billboards, but my ambitions to create artwork and make a name for myself led me to start Lawn Cheers. I trained in sign painting and made money lettering boats, trucks and windows. When someone saw one of my Christmas Holiday windows they asked if they could pay me to paint this for their yard and Lawn Cheers was born. Soon people who saw this contacted me asking for holiday displays and I appeared in several local newspapers and radio. Today thousands of people enjoy and collect my products for the Holidays. Lawn Cheers have sold Nationwide through Mail Order Catalogs such as Celebration Fantastic, Potpourri Collection and Charles Keath. In the Fall of 2000 I was featured on HGTV's Carol Duvall Show and on NBC's Rosie O'Donnell Show. I love to illustrate characters, write children's stories, create costumes, collect antiques, travel and meet friends all over the world. I am inspired by travel and the views of various cultures.
