Emily Luchetti

In 1984 Emily joined the opening team of Stars Restaurant in San Francisco on the savory side of the kitchen. In 1987 she became the pastry chef at Stars. At Stars, she wrote two cookbooks, Stars Desserts (HarperCollins 1991) and Four Star Desserts (HarperCollins 1995) , and was co-owner with Jeremiah Tower of StarBake, a retail bakery. She contributed to The Revised Joy of Cooking (Simon & Schuster 1997) and wrote the dessert recipes for The Farallon Cookbook (Chronicle Books 2000). She is currently the Executive Pastry Chef of Farallon Restaurant in San Francisco. Since it's opening in 1997 she has created the pastry menu, overseen its production, and managed the department. Her newest book, A Passion for Desserts was just published by Chronicle Books. Emily and her recipes appear regularly in national newspapers and magazines. She has been a spokesperson for Northwest Cherries, The Butter Board and The Sugar Association. She is on Sunkist's chef's advisory board.
