Marian Wright Edelman

Marian Wright Edelman, founder of the Children's Defense Fund, is the author of two previous children's books, Stand For Children and I'm Your Child, God: Prayers for Our Children. Her books for adults include the New York Times bestseller The Measure of Our Success: A Letter to My Children and Yours as well as Guide My Feet: Prayers and Meditations for Our Children and Lanterns: A Memoir of Mentors. She has re-ceived the MacArthur Prize Fellowship, the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism, the Heinz Award, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She and her family live in Washington, D.C.
