Sharon Cooper

Dr. Sharon Cooper is a developmental and forensic pediatrician who has spent a career in the United States Army. Having retired as a Colonel at Fort Bragg, NC, the Army’s largest military installation, as the Chief of Pediatrics, she has devoted herself as a full time physician in the areas of developmental pediatrics and child maltreatment. Dr. Cooper has provided more than a hundred training seminars over the world, and holds numerous positions in both the military and civilian communities, to included state board member of North Carolina Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (NCPSAC), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) subcommittee on child abuse and neglect for North Carolina, and faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. She is also an instructor at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Her area of expertise is child sexual exploitation.
