Samantha Waters has made it her life's work to defuse
bombs, track their creators and generally keep things from
getting blown sky-high. When she's pulled off her job to a
special task force, she's not too happy about the prospect
because she's used to working alone. But too quickly, she's
getting used to having a partner in Payton Reynolds, a
former Delta Force guy and now doing black ops for the CIA.
They've been thrown together to investigate the bombing
death of three Senators -- and no one can decide if the men
were supposed to be killed or in the wrong place at the
wrong time. Unfortunately, as the special team (which
includes Gabe and Madison from ENDGAME) gets further into
the investigation, it seems as if the motive for the
bombings might be a little more personal. In fact, Sam
seems to be intricately involved.
I'm a sucker for action, romance and series that let me get
to know the characters better. In other words, Dee Davis is
writing for me. With a lot of strong alpha males, great
women characters, and a solid plot, this is great summer
reading! Kind of makes you want to get your spy gear and go
undercover...
Two men burned to possess her . . . But only one would
win the deadly game . . .
Samantha Waters was no hotshot, just damn good at her job.
And as the best bomb specialist around, she was the logical
choice for the elite crime-fighting squad Last Chance, Inc.
But Sam's sexy self-confidence put a crucial member of the
team on edge -- seasoned CIA black ops specialist Payton
Reynolds.
Sam's passion for risk drove Payton up a wall. The last
thing he needed was someone to keep out of trouble. But
soon, as they work side by side to decipher the bomber's
next moves, the sparks between them begin to fly. Now the
two of them must fight to keep their feelings in check --
as they're drawn toward a final, explosive confrontation
with a madman . . .
