Jack Brady was a favourite upcoming World Heavyweight
Boxing Champion before his first shattering loss in
London. A loss which not only lost him possibly his
career but also his manager, the only father figure he
ever had. Guilt has been eating him ever since which he
tries to drown out by drinking and having sex. An
unexpected blast from the past, his late manager's
daughter and the only woman he ever loved, is back and
now owns him.
Daniella Chambers is determined for her father's legacy
to live on. She is prepared, all in, to invest in the
bankrupt gym and Jack Brady, her star boxer and the only
man who can bring them back from shutting down
permanently. But first she needs to get him sober and get
his heart, body and soul back in the game. Amidst all the
training is the high tension attraction and the
uncertainty of their future, all dependent upon Jack's
winning or losing the next match. So what will it be?
FIGHTING FOR IT is an action packed heart-warming story
about a man who on the brink of losing everything thanks
to his insecurities and guilt is brought back to the top
by the very woman he hurt in order to give her a better
life. I loved how Ms. Fusco built their relationship and
showed us, despite their past, how they overcome the
uncertainty and maturely deal with their feelings. Their
feelings are well thought out and the build-up is sweet
rather than filled with the unnecessary angst. FIGHTING
FOR IT is all about setting the priorities, love, what
just one person's belief can do to impact someone's life
and decisions, struggle and most of all FIGHTING FOR IT.
FIGHTING FOR IT also brought back the memories of all
Rocky movies but with more in-depth emotions along with
all the action of the training, the fights, the build-up
and the climax. I was rooting and feeling the adrenaline
pump through as I worked out with Jack Brady on his way
to the top. Whether he makes it or not is what you need
to read to find out. But FIGHTING FOR IT is a breath of
fresh air in the genre of sports romance with an alpha
hero and a determined, strong willed heroine who are
mature enough to take charge and accept their
responsibilities and mistakes rather than play the blame
game. I hope there are some more books in future about
the other boxers mentioned too as I would love to revisit
all of them again. Great, exhilarating read.
