Romance Historical

THE STUDY OF SEDUCTION is the second book in the Sinful Suitors series by Sabrina Jeffries. She has created another fabulous historical romance with mystery, danger and great romance.

The story started when Edwin Barlow, the Earl of Blakeborough, agrees to help his best friend's ward, Lady Clarissa Lindsey, by escorting her while protecting her from a persistent and aggressive suitor.

Edwin believes by escorting Clarissa throughout the season he can find a wife too. But can anyone else tempt him when he is so captivated by the smart, free-spirited beauty? Clarissa is a beautiful heiress who flirts with her suitors, of course, with no intention to marry anyone especially the overbearing Edwin. But when the matters of the powerful French diplomat escalate, she doesn't have any choice, except to accept Edwin's marriage offer. But will their marriage stop the stalker or ruin them both?

Sabrina Jeffries is a talented storyteller of historical romance that keeps the readers enthrall from the first page. I love the verbal sparring between Clarissa and Edwin and how the attraction starts between the hero and heroine even though they knew each other for a long time. The way Edwin tries to save Clarissa from the crazy suitor is so sweet and adorable.

The plot in A STUDY OF SEDUCTION is great and keeps getting more interesting with surprising twist, and I couldn't have guessed what was coming next. I highly recommend this amazing story of danger, dark secrets, passion and little mystery. Thank you, Sabrina Jeffries!

SUMMARY

A marriage of convenience ignites into a passionate love affair in the hotly anticipated second novel in New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries’s addictive Sinful Suitors series!

When Edwin Barlow, the Earl of Blakeborough, agrees to help his best friend’s impetuous ward, Lady Clarissa Lindsey, in her time of need, he knows he’s in for trouble. He’s been hunting for someone to wed, and she’ll just get in the way. Although captivated by the witty, free-spirited beauty, he fears she’d be all wrong as a wife...if she would even take such a gruff cynic for her husband. Yet he wants nothing more than to have her for his own.

Clarissa has no intention of marrying anyone—not Edwin, whom she’s sure would be an overbearing husband, and certainly not the powerful French diplomat stalking her. But when matters escalate with the diplomat, she chooses Edwin’s gallant offer of a marriage between friends in hopes that it will deter her stalker. She expects nothing more than an amiable union, but their increasingly tempestuous kisses prove more than she bargained for.

When her stalker’s vow to expose the lovers’ deepest secrets threatens to destroy their blossoming attraction, will their tenuous bond withstand public ruin, or will Edwin lose all that’s important to him to protect his bride?
