Here's the basic summary of IN LOVE WITH PARIS: everything
is wonderful, all
dreams come true and nothing bad is permanently bad. In
that way, it is
the ultimate escapist fantasy. There is no real conflict,
no real tension, and
there are some folks who will
lap this right up.
Paget and Chris have their meet cute in the line for a
flight to Paris for
Christmas. Paget then sits next to her favorite author on
the flight and
they become best friends. While in Paris - which is an
unexpected all-
expenses paid gift from her boss - she hangs out with the
author and
completely falls for Chris, and they start their happily
ever after
immediately. And I do mean immediately.
For me, this was frustrating. Lust is fun and all, but I
feel pretty
strongly that love can't happen without conflict and
without hard
conversations because love is a choice. My favorite books
are the ones
where people choose to love despite conflict and even
because of it. So
for me, this ticked no boxes - mostly because Chris seemed
way too
good to be true.
I can see folks who like short and sweet happily ever
afters getting a kick
out of IN LOVE WITH PARIS, but if you're someone who likes
more conflict and
tension you
may want to give this one a pass.
Paget Murphy doesn’t expect to find love in Paris for the
holidays,
until she bumps into a handsome stranger at the airport. He
is
everything she has ever wanted in a man—kind, generous, and
he loves
art as much as she does!
Christopher Paris can’t believe his luck when he bumps into
a
beautiful stranger. He is a curator at the Louvre and that
is where
Paget intends to spend most of her time in Paris. He plans
to occupy
every free moment with her—running, eating, and making
love.
With a continent separating them, will they find a way to
spend the
most memorable holiday together—Christmas?
