Women's Fiction Contemporary | Romance Contemporary

In IF YOU ONLY KNEW, Jenny Tate is a wedding dress designer from New York who has decided to move back home and open her business in Cambry-on- Hudson, a lovely city about an hour north of Manhattan. Her ex- husband, Owen, half-Japanese, gorgeous, and a plastic surgeon, left her suddenly and married a beautiful woman, Ana-Sofia. He is now a father to a beautiful baby that should have been hers and whose present wife wants to be Jenny's best friend.

Opening Bliss, her store in COH, receives a huge welcome and much success. Her sister and closest friend, Rachel, is married to a successful attorney with Triple B, and supports Rachel and her triplet girls in fashion. Three-year-old Rose, Charlotte, and Grace are everything Jenny has ever longed for. Jenny moves into a beautiful old brownstone with a super that is crotchety and knows absolutely nothing about maintaining the building. He's a piano teacher, and boy is he attractive. They form an unusual friendship built on bickering and her use of him for her "eye-candy." Leo Killian seems to be a dick, but she loves his hair! Leo only loves his dog, Loki, who is very ill and his days numbered. The easy bantering between the two doesn't stop the inevitable; Jenny has fallen in love. How does she manage to help her sister deal with her own marriage and still walk away from the man she has finally and truly found for herself?

I absolutely fell in love with Leo and Jenny. The stories about the two sisters and their love for each other has huge insight into their growing into adults. I have read many of Kristan Higgins' stories and have never found one I didn't love. If any author can keep me glued to the pages, this one certainly can. The pages flew by as I was anxious to know what would happen next. Kristan is an expert at packing her novels with compassionate, caring characters and heart-felt emotion. She has the ability to give the reader that "complete" circle for her characters and has an uncanny ability in her description of each one. I intend to continue grabbing every single book I can find from this author the minute it hits the stands. For a fulfilling and warm-hearted read, do not miss this one!

SUMMARY

The drama, hilarity and tears of sisterhood are at the heart of the thoroughly captivating new novel by New York Times bestselling author Kristan Higgins—a funny, frank and bittersweet look at marriage, forgiveness and moving on.

Letting go of her ex-husband is harder than wedding-dress designer Jenny Tate expected…especially since his new wife wants to be Jenny's new best friend. Sensing this isn't exactly helping her achieve closure, Jenny trades the Manhattan skyline for her hometown up the Hudson, where she'll start her own business and bask in her sister Rachel's picture-perfect family life…and maybe even find a little romance of her own with Leo, her downstairs neighbor, a guy who's utterly irresistible and annoyingly distant at the same time. Rachel's idyllic marriage, however, is imploding after she discovers her husband sexting with a colleague. She always thought she'd walk away in this situation, but her triplet daughters have her reconsidering her stance on adultery, much to Jenny's surprise. Rachel points to their parents' perfect marriage as a shining example of patience and forgiveness; but to protect her sister, Jenny may have to tarnish that memory— and their relationship—and reveal a family secret she's been keeping since childhood.

Both Rachel and Jenny will have to come to terms with the past and the present and find a way to get what they want most of all.
