Georgie Nikolopatos' husband, Spiro, has gone missing
again. Busy with the restaurant work, Georgie is only
mildly concerned. Their marriage is now more one of
convenience. Especially since their 19 year old daughter,
Callista, has grown up and is off visiting family in
Greece, Spiro is now more openly gay and often disappears
when a new lover appears.
The real love in George's life is the buzz she gets from
running the family restaurant in Bonaparte House, a
historical and locally famous Octagon building in upstate
New York. Georgie knows it is not her family and she
could easily lose both job and home if Spiro ever wants
her to leave, but Sophie, her gruff sounding mother-in-
law, loves her in her own way and would probably stop
that from happening. As the Manager of the restaurant,
Georgie is the one who put in the sixteen hour days to
keep everything running smoothly.
Still it is strange that Spiro has not returned, if only
to be on hand for the film crew that came at his
invitation to investigate ghostly sounds in the old
Bonaparte House. Georgie is further rattled when she is
out on a boat with a friend and they discover a dead body
floating in the water. If that isn't strange enough,
why is she now under suspicion?

winning recipe for success! As a delicious cozy mystery,
it is filled with quirky characters, a smattering of
intriguing and interesting historical facts on the
upstate region of New York near the St. Lawrence River
and some mysterious dilemmas.
Georgie is an attractive and likeable main character and
it is a refreshing change to have an older woman as the
romantic interest of several men. The story is easy to
read with suspenseful plot developments, dollops of good
humour and all nicely topped with a surprising twist at
the end.
With all the interesting characters in FETA ATTRACTION
and the history of Bonaparte House, this first book
easily can be savoured as a stand-alone mystery; yet, it
augers well for more appetizing additions in the future.
As if that isn't satisfying enough, Hardy shares at the
end of FETA ATTRACTION recipes for some of the delicious
Greek food mentioned in the story. So, dig in and enjoy a
tasty Greek story! Opa!

When the police start asking questions, it doesn’t help
that Spiro can’t be found—and with Georgie on their
