Legacy, gaining that moment of recognition from a parent,
pride -- all of these are pressures, things that drive us
to succeed -- tenets that make us the person that we are.
Sometimes they are internal -- it is often said we are our
own worst enemy. Other times the source is someone whose
opinion is highly valued and sought. In A MOMENT TO LOVE
Jennifer Faye clearly illustrates how far someone will go
to find that place. Everyone has power that steps up to a
challenge. At times that power almost blinds us to
equally important aspects of our life and when that
happens we are left feeling adrift -- alone.
In A MOMENT TO LOVE we have two people facing the
challenge of their lifetime. Both Cord Lawson and Alexis
Greer are desperately fighting for their futures. Cords
loans on his land and ranch the Brazen H are overextended
and he has the bank breathing down his back. He is being
forced to sell part of his ranch land and is trying to
come to terms with what a blow that will be to his future
earnings and candidly that shames him.
Cord's job was to keep a promise to his parents to be a
good guardian and safeguard the Brazen H -- his family
legacy. There was a lot of history on his land and Cord
was fighting to keep those areas, which he considered
sacred, as protected as possible.
Alexis was in his town of Whistle Stop to encourage Cord
to sell off a significant portion of his property
including a part that was a ghost town. She fronted for a
group of investors that looked to that land for a resort
and the ghost town was an important component to the
plans. This deal was tremendously vital to the welfare of
her father's company. It was sink or swim time for their
family corporation.
Cord prided his privacy on his ranch. It had truly become
his sanctuary against harsh critics. Cord knew Whistle
Stop was in dire need to revitalization. But couldn't
accept that he would have to individually sacrifice so
much. The town was certainly voicing their concerns that
this resort deal could save them from becoming a ghost
town, like the one on Cord's land.
Alexis was diligent in her efforts to get the resort deal
accomplished. But somewhere along the way this high
powered intelligent woman was falling in love. Not only
with this special town and its people but mostly with
this tough guy with a tender heart and soul.
In the end someone was going to be hurt and disappointed
-- the question is who.
A MOMENT TO LOVE was my introduction to Jennifer Faye.
This book is number one in her Whistle Stop Romance
series which truly warms my heart. A MOMENT TO LOVE is
filled from front to back with tons of lovely moments of
heartwarming dialog, sass and sex as well as plenty of
romance to satisfy the most fastidious reader. I eagerly
await the next book in this series. Jennifer Faye has
gone far beyond sweet romance with A MOMENT TO LOVE. This
story has great substance and is sure to win Faye many
new fans. I look forward to revisiting all the folks in
Whistle Stop.
SUMMARY

will happen. The notorious cowboy meets his match... Cord Lawson instantly distrusted the young woman in a
smart
suit who'd just arrived in Whistle Stop. She was very
pretty
and clearly a city girl--but with memories of his failed
marriage still darkening his mind, he's determined to
steer
clear! But she's sniffing around his land--land that has
been in his family for generations. There was no way he'd
let it go--even if the bank was threatening to foreclose,
and even if selling could give Whistle Stop a new lease on
life. Alexis Greer had one mission--close the deal on the Lawson
ranch; without it, her father's land development company
would go bankrupt. But the word around town is to keep
clear
of Cord and to stay away from his precious land. What had
happened to cause such a handsome cowboy to live such a
solitary existence? However, determination was Lexi's
middle
name. She just had to keep on trying to breach Cord's
barriers, to appeal somehow to his head and heart--even if
it put her in danger of losing both of hers...to him.
