Emma Castle, a marriage therapist, has just made the
greatest faux pas
of her career, and no less than on a video that has gone
viral. For a
therapist to actually admit happily ever after is a
fantasy, her reputation is
now in shambles, especially since her parents are famous
therapists and
authors of books they have written on the subject.
Leaving Los Angeles
after being fired she is first stopping in Gandigow,
Scotland to visit her
friend Claire Russo, then plans to spend time with her
parents in London
to ride out the media persecution. Instead of Claire
meeting her at the
airport, the dreaded Scot, Gabriel MacGregor, appears.
With heads
butting and bantering a given constant since Claire and
Dominique's
wedding ten years ago, he's definitely the very last
person she needs.
Avoiding him at all costs, even when visiting her close
friend before, this
has always been Emma's uppermost concern. She is
surprised to find
that he apparently is a doctor and not the incorrigible
rogue she expects.
Gabe's father fostered Dominique after the loss of his
parents, giving him
a loving family and instilling uppermost devotion to Gabe.
What Emma
finds in the small remote village isn't what she expects.
Claire has her
mind set to have a baby and will do whatever she has to in
getting her
way, thus placing Emma in the middle. Emma is also thrust
upon the
women of the village and the Quilting Central. Staying at
the Quilting
Dorm, she is coerced by Deydie and the other women into
making the
Gandigow Dr. Quilt, given to each new doctor for his first
Christmas there.
Between reluctantly providing therapy to Mattie, a small
boy suffering
from mutism after losing his father, and counseling
incidental drop-ins
while at Quilting Central, Emma is beginning to change her
mind about
the devilish and sexy Scottish warrior. Claire discovers
her best friend
has lied to her about her sexual conquests when it's
revealed she has
only slept with 3 men and never had an orgasm. Emma faces
losing the
friendship of the woman she loves the most right along
with the man that
makes the sparks fly and her body hum.
This book is A Kilts and Quilts novel and the first
I have had the pleasure
of reading. Full of deceit from a woman professed to be
completely
forthright and honest, everything gets turned topsy-turvy
when she
realizes just what she wants most in her life. Nothing is
as she thought
when related to love and marriage. The rude awakening
comes at a high
cost. I loved the village residents' involvement
throughout the story and
the emotion shown by all the characters. MEET ME IN
SCOTLAND is a warmhearted and
charming tale of two friends, each attempting to deal with
love in their
own way. Definitely a "must read" for any woman with
romance in her
heart. An excellent and recommended read.
You can run from your problems, but you can’t hide from
love in the Scottish
seaside town of Gandiegow....
When a video of her calling happily ever after “a foolish
fantasy” goes viral,
marriage therapist Emma Castle is out of a job—and off to
Scotland. The tiny
town of Gandiegow is the perfect place to ride out the
media storm and to catch
up with her childhood friend Claire. But also in
Gandiegow is the one man she
hoped never to see again.
She’s successfully avoided Gabriel MacGregor since Claire
and Dominic’s wedding,
only to find he’s now the village doctor—and just as
tall, dark, and devilish as
ever. Claire and Dominic’s blissful marriage, however, is
not what it used to
be. Soon Emma and Gabriel find themselves taking sides
even as the sparks begin
to fly between them. Can Emma help her friends—or regain
her career—as she
struggles with her own happily ever after?
