Mystery Cozy | Mystery Culinary

It's Halloween in Crystal Cove and the Winsome Witches Faire is in full swing. The various vendors are raising money for the cause of literacy and Jenna Hart is busy preparing The Cookbook Nook for the onslaught of shoppers. Unfortunately, one of the Winsome Witches ends up dead and murder is suspected. Will Jenna resist becoming involved in another murder investigation, particularly when her aunt and co-owner of The Cookbook Nook is one of the suspects?

STIRRING THE PLOT is the third book in The Cookbook Nook Mystery series but can easily be read as a standalone. However, readers who want a better understanding of Jenna's character in particular would appreciate reading the first two books prior to STIRRING THE PLOT. Besides, who wouldn't want to enjoy reading more about Vera, Jenna, Cinnamon, and the rest of the Crystal Cove bunch?

A Halloween mystery set in Crystal Cove is perfect for this quirky little tourist enclave! I love visiting Crystal Cove each and every time as we see the various stores and get to spend time with some of the very unusual residents. The concept of the Winsome Witches and their fundraisers for literacy fits right in with the town. I also love the scrumptious recipes included by Daryl Wood Gerber as I only wish we could get a sample to taste right along with our reading pleasure!

STIRRING THE PLOT is yet another entertaining cozy mystery as The Cookbook Nook series is just sheer fun! I love the twists and turns the storyline takes as Daryl Wood Gerber does a marvelous job at crafting a good mystery with a phenomenal setting! It's impossible not to fall in love with Crystal Cove and its colorful characters as STIRRING THE PLOT is easily recommended.

SUMMARY

3rd in nationally bestselling Cookbook Nook Mystery series.

Halloween in Crystal Cove, California, is a big deal, involving a spooky soiree where the Winsome Witches, a fund- raising group, gather to open up their purse strings and trade superstitions. But party magicians, fortune- tellers, and herbalists are only the beginning of this recipe for disaster...

Jenna Hart has packed The Cookbook Nook chock- full of everything from ghostly texts to witchy potions in anticipation of the annual fund-raiser luncheon. But there's one unexpected addition to the menu: murder.

When the Head Priestess of the Winsome Witches is found dead under mysterious circumstances, there's no logical answer and plenty of blame to go around. With her aunt, Vera, unable to call on her ability to foresee the future, Jenna will have to use more than just sleight of hand and a few magic tricks to conjure up the truth...
