PRYMAL LUST is Book one in Jianne Carlo's Prymal
series.
With this series, I have found a new favorite author.
There
are so many things I love about PRYMAL LUST.
On the
surface, PRYMAL LUST is about some animal shifters and
their struggle to find their place in society and find
love. Jianne Carlo does a great job of defining the
different groups and important characters. However, I
think
the themes in PRYMAL LUST are classic and I didn't feel
bogged down by unusual terminology.
Axe Smith is a Feral Wolf and on a mission when he runs
into the Wylfen female Tania. Everything ceases to matter
at that moment. They have an instant physical attraction,
and Jianne Carlo creates a wonderfully sensual first
encounter between them. The sex between Axe and Tania in
PRYMAL LUST is raw, earthy, and wild, but the story is
more
than just about sexuality. As much as Axe is an alpha and
a
tough SEAL, he treats Tania with respect and endeavors to
do everything can to protect her as well as create an
environment for her to live her dreams. That is what makes
Axe a great hero to me -- the way he treats Tania. He
proves
that you can be a strong, tough-guy, without talking down
to or intimidating a woman. The quiet moments when they
reveal their vulnerabilities to each other make a nice
counterpoint to the explosive sexiness.
There is a lot of action and danger throughout PRYMAL
LUST.
Normally I don't like reading romances that have a lot of
action in them. However, those elements work for this
story
and these characters without obscuring the romance. There
is a sense of urgency that helps drive the story along.
The
supporting characters like Tania's brothers add another
interesting dimension to PRYMAL LUST. I look forward to
possibly reading their stories in the future.
PRYMAL LUST by Jianne Carlo is a must-read for paranormal
romance fans. I eagerly await the next exciting
installment
in this super steamy series. I hope the author will write
a
novella detailing how Tania's friend Eva and her mate Dax
first got together.
Is there a future for an aristocratic Wylfen female exiled
for mating with a half-breed Rogue Wolf?
The primal call of Mate Claim sparks a battle among the
three species of shifters—Wylfen, Feral, & Rogue—and has
for
generations. These violent feuds incite hunts by
humankind,
driving shifters near extinction. To protect their people
the aristocratic Wylfen ban the practice of Mate Claim.
When
a Rogue alpha claims a Wylfen female, the mated pair forms
a
coalition with a Feral male. An alliance is created:
Prymal,
a new species & pack born of Rogue, Wylfen, & Feral. And
war
begins…
Tania, a Wylfen aristocrat, hooks up with a stranger right
before her twin’s graduation from military college. Hours
later, the bottom drops out of her world when she’s
introduced to Axe, her twin’s new SEAL instructor. Then
she
discovers he’s a Feral Wolf, the archenemy of her people.
Wylfen laws prohibit her from mating with a half-breed. If
anyone finds out she’s mated with Axe, exile is the least
she has to fear…
