"I know who killed Steven Starkes" was the last thing Sabrina Mayfield heard on the phone call from Jordan Zellis. He had already told her where to come to get his younger brother and sister. She calls the police for backup and heads to the address. Sabrina is Jordan and his siblings' case worker. Jordan is a troubled youth who just needs some guidance and direction.

Deputy Clay Starke arrives as Sabrina's backup, but before they can get into the trailer, someone fires shots at them. More help arrives, but they can't find the shooter. They do find an entire meth lab in the trailer and Steven Starkes' wallet. Why is it there? Steven's case has been cold since he was killed a month ago. This could be the break they need.

Clay is Steven's older brother, recently returned to Wrangler's Corner, Tennessee, to take the job left vacant by his brother's death. He and Sabrina only knew each other casually while growing up here, since Clay is six years older. They team up to find Jordan, sort out what is going on and try to find Steven's killer. In the process, someone is stalking Sabrina. Are they trying to kill her or get something they believe she has? Can Clay keep her alive long enough to get to the bottom of it all?

THE LAWMAN RETURNS by Lynette Eason< is set in a small town outside of Nashville just before Christmas. It starts with a bang and never stops, full of action and suspense at every turn. Sabrina and Clay are strong characters, but blame themselves for things in their past over which they had no control. There are numerous supporting characters who lend their voices to carry the plot along and keep the story interesting. Lynette Eason gives us a thriller about moving beyond the past and living your life as best you can today. It's about doing the right thing no matter the cost, about placing your faith in God alone. Although filled with suspense and mayhem, THE LAWMAN RETURNS is a romantic, inspirational tale that will warm you heart.
