After 3 years together, Lottie Graveney is expecting her
boyfriend Richard to propose; she is sure her intuition is
spot-on, they do after all share a special connection. And
she makes a fool of herself in public, when he does not.
Lottie has the unfortunate habit of overreacting when faced
with a sentimental catastrophe; she always makes
spontaneous, outrageous changes in her life. While making a
motivational speech to students, she recalls with fondness
the trip to Greece when she was eighteen, the year she spent
with her first real boyfriend, Ben.
On the edge of dramatic despair, Lottie gets a phone call
out of the blue from long-lost Ben, who had also been
thinking about that year, 15 years ago. They meet, and it
feels like the Greek island was only yesterday. They pick up
almost where they left off,, and Lottie's mood improves
tremendously. She's on cloud nine, and she's getting carried
away like never before.
Lottie's older sister, Fliss, is desperately hoping her
divorce will be finalized, her ex-husband is being a pest.
She doesn't really have time for Lottie's histrionics, but
she thinks her sister is about to make a huge mistake. She
inadvertently meets a friend of Ben's, Lorcan, who also
thinks something should be done about Ben and Lottie.
They agree upon what would be the best outcome to the
imminent debacle. However their meeting does not go exactly
as expected.
WEDDING NIGHT is the latest from Ms. Kinsella and saying it
doesn't disappoint would be the understatement of the year!
The story is told from both Lottie's and Fliss's points of
view, which works very well. WEDDING NIGHT starts off
somewhat normally, and then explodes into madness and chaos!
It had been a long time since I laughed so much; WEDDING
NIGHT just might be Sophie Kinsella's funniest book yet.
It's wildly entertaining, almost surreal at times. The
characters are over-the-top and perfect for this story.
WEDDING NIGHT has many layers: it's about growing up,
letting go, and living in the present. It's hilarious,
compelling, touching, and just lovely!
#1 New York Times bestselling author Sophie Kinsella returns with her trademark blend of sparkling
wit and playful romance in this page-turning story of a wedding to remember--and a honeymoon to
forget.
Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose, but then his big question involves a
trip abroad--not a trip down the aisle. Completely crushed, Lottie reconnects with an old flame,
and they decide to take drastic action. No dates, no moving in together, they'll just get married
. . . right now. Her sister, Fliss, thinks Lottie is making a terrible mistake, and will do
anything to stop her. But Lottie is determined to say "I do," for better, or for worse.
