When it starts to snow in Florida, it's obvious the end of
the world is near. For Raven and her two sisters, the snow
is the proof that the prophecy drilled into their heads is
about to happen... which means one of them is about to die
at the hand of a warrior. Raven has an old soul within her, one
of the norns, and now she fears she has found the warrior of
the prophecy... Vanir, a young man who also has knowledge of
magic and the Norse myths. Will their romance survive when
Ragnarok is at hand?
FORETOLD starts the reader smack dab in the middle of the
storyline and then catches us up to date through a series of
flashbacks. It's a bit confusing initially, particularly if
one is unfamiliar with some of the Norse mythology that is
referenced. As the storyline progresses, however, Rinda
Elliott begins to show the reader just how the Norse
mythology fits into her unique world. And let's face it, who
can't help but be intrigued by a book that begins with heavy
snow in Florida?
Readers who are interested in Ragnarok or other Norse myths
will find Rinda Elliott's tale fascinating. She incorporates
prophecy, the norns, and the end of the world into a very
unusual world. FORETOLD is the first book in the Sisters of
Fate series and I actually wish it had been a bit longer so
we could further explore Ms. Elliott's world- especially the
norns. I will be curious to see how she incorporates the
prophecy with Raven's siblings into the next two books.
It is written that three Sisters of Fate have the power
to change the world's destiny.
But only if they survive…
The Lockwood triplets have had the prophecy drummed into
their heads since birth. Still, Raven, the eldest of the
sisters, can't believe it's really happening. She's the
reincarnation of a Norse goddess? One of the sisters is
destined to die? When it starts snowing in summer in
Florida, the sisters fear the worst has come to pass.
Ragnarok, the Norse end of the world, has begun.
Raven finds herself the secret protector of Vanir, a boy
with two wolves, a knowledge of Norse magic and a sense of
destiny he can't quite explain. He's intense, sexy and
equally determined to save her when it becomes clear someone
is endangering them. Raven doesn't know if getting closer to
him will make a difference in the coming battle, but her
heart isn't giving her a choice.
Ahead of the sisters is the possibility of death at the hand
of a warrior, death by snow, death by water or death by fire.
