Romance Paranormal

If there's one thing Basha Argeneau, who's better known these days as Madame Divine, doesn't want to happen, it's a big family reunion, especially since her family might just kill her for being a rogue vampire. When a sexy immortal arrives at the carnival she works at, Divine is determined to keep her distance. Her plans go a bit awry when it becomes apparent that the newest member of their carnival family may just be her lifemate.

Marcus Notte has one job to do; find Lucian Argeneau's long lost niece and bring her home so she can be questioned about some rogue activities. The woman he finds during his search, Divine, fits all the physical criteria to be Lucian's missing niece but she's nothing like what he expects a vicious rogue to be. Not being able to read Divine is just the first obstacle in Marcus's path in determining if she is in fact Basha. There's also the complication of Marcus falling for Divine, but if she is a rogue, will he be willing to stand by her?

With VAMPIRE MOST WANTED, the twentieth book in the Argeneau series, Lynsay Sands shakes things up by giving us a darker tale than we're used to. Basha's past is full of heartbreaking moments and the fact that she believes her family would kill her for what happened to her keeps her on the run. I really admire that even given everything she's been through, Basha is still so caring and warm hearted. I'm glad Sands didn't play her as a victim and instead made her strong and independent. Marcus, a fan favorite since he first showed up in A Bite to Remember, is a wonderful partner for her, full of understanding and compassion.

Sands usual brand of humour is subdued in the book but I think that's appropriate given the gravity of what's happened to the heroine, though there's a mop scene with Marcus that people will recognize as classic Sands. The carnival setting will remind many of their childhood and stuffing themselves with cotton candy and donuts. Sands also brings back the storyline with the no-fangers, which many people have been wondering about. I think many a reader will be surprised with how things pan out on that end. VAMPIRE MOST WANTED is a phenomenal read by Lynsay Sands, who, as usual, does not disappoint.

SUMMARY

New York Times and USA Today bestseller Lynsay Sands continues her enormously popular vampire series starring the Argeneau family. For Basha Argeneau, anything is better than facing her estranged family. Even hiding out in sweltering southern California. But when a sexy Vamp in black shows up determined to bring her back to the clan, she'll do anything to keep far, far away from the past she can't outrun. Marcus Notte isn't here to play games-especially not with someone as crazy as the infamous blonde. Asked by Lucian Argeneau to bring her back for questioning, Marcus is determined to carry out the request-no matter how the seductive little mind-reading Vamp feels about it. Basha doesn't mind fighting fire with fire, especially with a hot immortal involved. But if this Vamp wants to take her away, he'll have to catch her first . . . The 20th book in the Argeneau vampire family series, featuring beloved recurring characters from bestselling author Lynsay Sands.
