Cheyenne Jensen struggles daily to care for her two
children, Ben who is 6 and little Desiree, still a baby.
Divorced from her alcoholic and verbally abusive husband,
Cheyenne only wants to provide for her children and give
them what other children have, even though she is sad that
they lack the kind of father they deserve. Ben is an
exceptional little boy, thinking of everyone else before
himself, even though he has much less than other children.
Ben's Christmas wish isn't what other children
ask for. He only wants his mommy to be happy and to not
have
to work so hard all the time.
Jacob Winston is trying to come to terms with his sister,
Ada, and her impending death, has lost the magic of
Christmas. At his sister's insistence he takes a side job
from his computer work to act as Santa's Helper at the
mall, manning the wishing well. His heart goes out to the
sad little boy making a selfless wish instead of all the
toys & games other children are demanding.
Learning of
Ben's involvement in the food drive and his visits to the
Vets, among other caring things he does , Jacob nominates
the very special Ben for the Eyes of a Child award.
Brought together again is just the beginning for Cheyenne
and Jacob as they quickly form a loving and caring
attachment for one another. This is the family Jacob
craves but is unconvinced it could be for real in so short
a time. Cheyenne has trust issues, but finds she is unable
to keep from falling for Jacob. Things get serious until a
couple of unfortunate events come to light; one which
endangers the gifted little boy and brings realization to
Jacob of what is important in life.
This beautiful story of an amazing little boy is filled
with nostalgia and warmth, along with emotional loss and
sadness. It does the heart good when this little boy gets
his most desired wish. What a great time for renewed love
and new beginnings.
Nikki Barrett has done an amazing job
of making the reader truly feel the sadness and desire in a
small and very giving child. This story will truly lift
the reader's spirit and open the heart for this wonderful
holiday of giving and love. THE SECRET SANTA WISHING WELL
is definitely a page
turner but be sure to keep some Kleenex handy as you will
lose your heart to this fantastic little guy.
SUMMARY
The magic of Christmas has been lost to Jacob Winston. At
the suggestion of his ill sister, Jacob takes a job as a
Secret Santa at the mall, hoping to restore his Christmas
spirit. Even that doesn't seem to work, until a special
little boy ambles up to make a very special wish... Cheyenne Jensen is struggling to raise her two kids without
the help of her ex-husband who refuses to acknowledge his
daughter’s existence and doesn't provide for the son he
does. This Christmas is shaping up to be as heartbreaking as
the last, until her son Ben’s kind actions lead a stranger
to them. Ah, but it’s Christmas time and the magic has begun. When Jacob and Cheyenne meet, neither can deny their
immediate attraction to one another. As situations arise
that require they spend more time together, their feelings
grow stronger and stronger. With Christmas fast approaching, the pair learn what
matters most in life. Now, if only they could ditch the
ghost of Christmases past. Maybe this holiday will bring some wishes come true- for
everyone after all.

Great review! I can't wait to read this one. I read On the 12th Date of Christmas and loved it. (Andrea Cooper 12:01pm November 17, 2013)
