Romance

The spotlight is shone on the bears in this latest installment in the, Takhiini Wolves series. When grizzly bear, Tyler Harrison finds Caroline Bradley passed out, he tries to help her. Though clearly the damsel in distress in this situation, Caroline is far from being a little lady who needs help. She is just having a bad week. Her wolf lover has found his mate, leaving her alone in a territory that is filled with aggressive bear shifters. If you throw in pack politics and a steamy romance, you have one hell of a book in DIAMOND DUST.

One of the signature styles Arend has incorporated into her novels is the humor and banter between her characters. This for me is one of the major reasons why I keep coming back to her books. I think it creates such a familial sense between the characters and as the series progresses, it makes me want to continue and see what she has planned next for other characters in the series.

I had one issue in the beginning of this book and I noticed that Arend's latest works have been taking on the same formula. I feel like there is a bit of instalove when it comes to the romances. Right from the beginning, Tyler and Caroline have an instant connection and they have hardly spoken much to each other at all. As this is a paranormal romance and finding your mate is a large aspect of the book, I could accept this more in this sub-genre. However, I am hoping that this doesn't continue to be in all of the next books because it feels like a short cut.

Despite that, Arend pens a fun and sexy romance for Tyler and Caroline. I enjoyed seeing the bear shifters for a change. DIAMOND DUST weaves together laughter and the pursuit for love in an enticing mix!

SUMMARY

Caroline Bradley is having one hell of a week. Her wolf lover has sniffed out his mate, making her an instant free agent. Not only that, Takhini territory has been overrun with aggressive bear-shifters electing a clan leader, and the wolf pack is feeling the effects—pushing her diplomatic skills to the limit.

Tyler Harrison is a grizzly on a mission. If he’s going to win the majority of the bears’ votes, he needs one final thing: a female companion. The only woman in town with influence over wolves, humans, and more bears than he’d like to admit, is Caroline.

Despite the sexual pull between them, though, Tyler’s not seeking a permanent relationship. And Caroline isn’t looking to be anyone else’s political pawn. But she should have remembered that when shifters are involved, changes happen in the blink of an eye.

Warning: Billionaire bear hero plus kick-ass human heroine equals a sexually volatile power struggle. Get ready for what might be the naughtiest game of tag that’s ever been played in the great outdoors.
