Kate O'Hara finds that the truth of TEMPING IS HELL is more
real than anyone could imagine. She thinks of anything
corporate in that light, but Fiendish Headquarters building
has been dubbed Hell so they took that and ran with it,
putting up a sign saying "Welcome to Hell." It's only a temp
job but so far not so good and it's only been a day. She
has managed to tick off the witchy pageant queen boss and
almost gets eaten by a bunch of demons. Of course she
doesn't know they are demons she thinks they are illegal
aliens who are being mistreated.
Billionaire Thomas Keshel already has a big problem on his
hands. He's the head of a billion dollar corporation and he
has to kill 12 bad guys to get his soul back. Problem
is that he finds Kate intriguing and starts to have
feelings for her after just one meeting and now is not a
good time for romance. When things go wrong he has to save
her by tricking her into signing a contract and now her
life and his are entwined, but not exactly in a romantic
way. Truth is if he dies he's going to hell without his
soul and so will she.
TEMPING IS HELL is a witty, sexy mix of contemporary
romance and paranormal action that keeps the reader glued
to the pages. Thomas is a gorgeous billionaire and Kate ...
well Kate is a law unto herself. As I turned each page I
found myself holding my breath and waiting to see what she
does next. I loved watching as the reality of her plight
starts setting in and as Thomas learns the hard way that
his feelings for her are the real deal. I also got a big
kick out of the funny and warmhearted way she managed the
demons in the basement and especially the one she dubbed
Slim. TEMPING IS HELL is the first in a new series
Necessary Evil by author Cathy Yardley and I am
hoping to see many more in this series.
WORST. JOB. EVER. Kate O'Hara can't wait until this temp assignment is over. The woman who hired her is a psychotic pageant queen, her coworkers are convicts-turned-clerks, and it's so boringly corporate it makes her skin crawl. Even her sexy-as-sin boss, famed billionaire Thomas Kestrel, isn't enticement enough to keep her there. Once she makes enough to pay off her bills, she's out. Or so she thinks... WHAT THE HELL? Next thing she knows, she's accidentally signed over her soul. Literally. And she's discovered Thomas's real mission: to kill thirteen bad guys in one year, in order to get his—now his and Kate’s—souls back. IT'S NOT JUST A JOB. IT'S A MISADVENTURE. From learning to boost the morale of some paper-pushing demons to navigating her way through blood-red tape, Kate has to work closely with her super-hot supervisor and get her flaky act together, before somebody clocks her out—permanently!
