Gemma Cavanagh is glad to have her unpleasant and unfaithful
soon-to-be-ex-husband out of the house. She's ready to sell
the house and move on with her life. She is particularly
happy to reconnect with her family after so many years of
her husband's efforts to separate Gemma from everyone who
loves her. She also hopes that a quieter life will reduce
all the "filing" she's been doing lately. Gemma can make
things disappear; unfortunately, she can't control when or
how she files things and she has no idea how to bring
anything back. Luckily, things seem to eventually return on
their own though it might take years.
Gemma is working in her home office when she realizes her
husband had been in the house accessing her computer. Afraid
of what he might have done, Gemma calls her brother who
sends his friend and colleague Brady McGrath, cyber-security
expert, former Navy SEAL, and a man with a skill of his own.
He uses touch to absorb the energy in a room to gather
information and feelings in a room. He is immediately drawn
to Gemma's beauty and warmth. When two police officers
arrive to inform Gemma her husband has been murdered, Brady
immediately senses danger. It will take all their combined
skills to uncover the truth before anyone else pays the
ultimate price.
NOW YOU SEE IT is a must read for fans of romantic suspense.
I'm a big fan of the genre and Cait Donnelly is going on my
list of authors to keep an eye on. As I would expect from a
good romantic suspense novel, the plot was gripping and kept
me eagerly reading to find out what happened next. The
chemistry between Gemma and Brady was strong. I enjoyed them
as compelling individuals and as a couple to root for. I
thought the light paranormal element added an intriguing
twist to the story without seeming contrived. I am
absolutely looking forward to the second book in the Inner
Edge series, Helix.
