Romance Romantic

Margaux Sullivan was one of the top fashion designers in New York City when her husband stole every dime she had and disappeared on her. She lost her job, her designs, everything she worked all her life to build. With nowhere else to go, Margaux returns to her small home town of Crescent Cove, Connecticut to live by the beach in her mother's second house.

Crescent Cove is where Margaux spent her summers dreaming of one day designing beautiful clothes. Now she has to start all over again from scratch to rebuild what she once had. The beach inspires Margaux and instead of seeing things in just black and white, colors start to enter into the equation. Her life is brightening up and it's thanks to the presence of the Chief of Police, Nick Prescott and his nephew Connor.

Nick Prescott has known who his true love was since he was a kid. He's always loved Margaux but he never spoke up and professed his feelings to her. She grew up and left for NYC and he never saw her again. Now she is back and he has his second chance.

Will Margaux and Nick find true love together or is it too late for Nick to have his happily ever after? How will Margaux react when her dreams are reduced to small town living? Will it be enough for her or will she return to her old life?

BEACH COLORS is a beautiful story of rebuilding your life when everything you worked for is taken from you. Margaux is depressed but never for a second does she wallow in self- pity. She finds a way to overcome and reinvent herself even after losing everything. I found BEACH COLORS to be inspiring in its message that you should never stop trying to achieve your dreams.

The romance between Nick and Margaux was sweet and I rooted for them to have their happily ever after. I loved the small town of Crescent Cove and all the characters added so much to the story. Nick's nephew Connor was my favorite and broke my heart with his sadness over losing his family. His heartache really came through in this story and I even cried at one point when he had a break through.

Overall, BEACH COLORS is an emotional story that tugged at my heartstrings and deeply moved me. I wish the town of Crescent Cove was real so I could rediscover myself there as well.

SUMMARY

While renowned designer Margaux Sullivan was presenting her highly praised collection during New York City's Fashion Week, her husband was cleaning out their bank account. A week after he disappeared, the bank foreclosed on Margaux's apartment and business.

Suddenly broke, betrayed, and humiliated, Margaux has nowhere else to turn to but home: the small coastal town of Crescent Cove, Connecticut, where she once knew love, joy, and family before she put them behind her on the climb to fame. When she's stopped for speeding by local interim police chief Nick Prescott, Margaux barely remembers the "townie" boy who worshipped her from afar every summer. But Nick is all grown up now, a college professor who gave up his career to care for his orphaned nephew, Connor. Though still vulnerable, Margaux is soon rediscovering the beauty of the shore through young Connor's eyes . . . and, thanks to Nick, finding a forgotten place in her heart that wants to love again.

But as she continues to work on a bold new line that will get her back into the game, Margaux realizes that soon she will have to make the most important, most difficult decision of her life. . . .
