Heather Morris is very careful with everything in her life
as an accountant who works in Vegas with a firm that deals
with casinos. Her wild child life is long gone; she is now
in control of every aspect of her life, to look at her one
would never guess at her past. She works hard to look and
act in control. Maybe she is a little too controlled but
she's comfortable with that until she meets Jon at a wine
tasting she had planned to go to with a girlfriend who had
to opt out at the last minute. She ends up in the casino
playing roulette and placing INSIDE BETS with a flyboy.
Jonathan "Tin Tin" Carlisle is a fighter pilot who is
careful only in the air. He comes from a wealthy family but
usually he has little contact with them. It isn't
necessary, thank goodness, due to his grandfather leaving
him a hefty inheritance. He lives his life the way he wants
and he wants Heather. He's never wanted more than a few
nights with any woman before but something in Heather makes
it hard to walk away.
What could a rich playboy and uptight account possibly have
in common with each other? With each turned page you find
out ... a lot.
INSIDE BET is a sensually hot book that goes beyond the
erotic into the emotional. It's trust, giving over control,
it's learning to let go and love. Heather has a wild child
past that she has tried very hard to overcome, but with Jon
she feels as if she is losing control and it scares her.
Jon is starting to think long term but he feels that
Heather is holding back on him... holding herself back. The
final ultimatum is believable and understandable as Jon
wants more than Heather believes she can give. It isn't
until she faces life without him that she realizes that
with him it's perfectly all right to let go and trust. I
can't wait to read the previous Vegas Top Gun series
book "Double Down" and hope there are many more hot guns to
come.
