Paris James started running the day she graduated from high
school and hasn't stopped since, even though she's a top-
ranked fashion model. On assignment in Las Vegas, she wakes
up one morning to find herself married and in bed with
Elvis. Well, an Elvis impersonator -- the young version,
thank heavens. But that's the only thing she's thankful
for. Even when she finds out he's an old friend from high
school, she wants out of the marriage.
Turner Pruitt knows all about Paris' past -- her
heartbreaking childhood, her psychotic mother. But he's
loved her all these years and never dreamed she'd suddenly
show up and marry him. He's determined to stay married. And
he's willing to wait for her to come to her senses and
realize they could be happy together. When Paris learns she
pregnant -- with twins -- Turner won't let her fear of
becoming psychotic like her mother ruin their chance to
have it all.
SHE WOKE UP MARRIED isn't your usual romance. Paris and
Turner's roles are reversed. He's deeply in love and she
won't let herself be. He has the patience of Job and she
has the attention span of the MTV generation. But even
though this isn't your usual story, it will grab you from
the get-go. And the secondary characters are brilliant.
Fun, witty, quirky and warmhearted, they make a good story
an adventure. A very good read.
Paris James has come to Las Vegas to take the sting off
turning the dreaded "Three-O." But one glass of bubbly
leads to another -- and when the redhead wakes up the next
morning, she finds to her astonishment she's in bed
with ... Elvis! The good news is it's the young, sexy
Elvis. The bad news is there's a diamond ring on her
finger. Sometime during the evening she actually married
The King of Rock 'n' Roll! Well, what happened in Vegas
better stay in Vegas, right?
But not if Turner Pruitt has anything to say about it.
Because years before he put on his first pair of blue suede
shoes, Turner knew the real Paris ... She's running away,
as usual, but he knows her deepest secrets, and as much as
she struggles against love, Paris is going to need him by
her side as she faces her demons head-on.
