Molly Pink doesn't really attract all that much trouble, but murder seems to follow her everywhere, even when she goes on vacation.br>
In A STITCH IN CRIME: A Crochet Mystery, by Betty Hechtman, Molly once again has a killer on her hands, when she'd rather just be crocheting.

As the event coordinator for the Royal and Shedd Bookstore and More, Molly has been tapped by her boss, Mrs. Shedd, to organize and run the store's annual summer crafting retreat, much to the concernment of Adele, Molly's co- worker/friend/pain in the side. The retreat is set to take place at a resort on Monterey Peninsula, and will feature classes on everything from journaling, to entertaining, tai- chi, knitting, and of course, crocheting. But when the star crochet instructor, Izabelle Landers, is found on the beach, dead from an allergic reaction to peanuts, it's up to Molly and her pals from the Tarzana Hookers group to find out who s'mored the poor woman to death.

With Adele delightedly taking over the crochet classes, Molly checks out the rest of the attendees to find out who had a motive to do Izabelle harm. Could it be the has-been actor and his wife, or perhaps the mysterious couple who seem overly interested in Izabelle's new book? Molly even has to consider that even Adele might be a suspect, since she had a run-in with the instructor over a stolen crochet stitch.

It's all mayhem and madness as Molly, with a little help from best friend Dinah, and surprise tai-chi teacher, lawyer Mason Fields, tracks down the killer. Mrs. Shedd may never hand over the coveted pink rhinestone clipboard to Molly again after this weekend.

Combining a little suspense, a little romance, and a little hooking, Betty Hechtman's charming crochet mystery series is clever and lively, and A STITCH IN CRIME is a great continuation of the storyline. As with the previous three books in the series, Hechtman includes a couple of cute crochet patterns as well recipes from dishes mentioned in the book.

SUMMARY

Molly and her Tarzana Hookers must untangle a twisted yarn...

Molly's been handed the reins for this year's creative retreat-an exhilarating weekend out on the Monterey Peninsula, complete with crochet classes. Unfortunately for one teacher, though, the breathtaking scenery is where she'll take her last breath. Now Molly will have to find a new instructor, and, if she can squeeze it in, solve this murder-with the help of her pals from the Tarzana Hookers.
